TEACHING TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE SKILLS
We FOCUS on what matters!
Focus Tuition aims to help our students grow their skills and confidence in a range of Maths and English capacities, including time management, analysis and problem solving skills and comprehension. We understand that preparing for GCSE exams can be stressful and challenging for many reasons, and want to offer that extra support to help your child pass confidently.

We work with all students on an individual level, as we believe that individual tutoring is key to successful learning, and only work with 2-3 students at a time ( two students with Maths tutor). We aim to understand each pupil on a deeper level than standard education allows. Get in touch today.

GCSE MATHS
Aiming to identify a student's area of weakness and bring them to a level that enables them to gain a good grade in this essential qualification; our teaching ensures a thorough grasp of topics covered in the curriculum is achieved and a knowledge and understanding of how these topics relate to each other is also achieved. We work to the individual needs of the students, finding out why a student is struggling to grasp a topic, correct mistakes and ensure they have the background in Maths needed. Lewis, the Maths tutor, has a Master's degree in Maths and works full-time as a data analyst and has over 10 years experience as a GCSE Maths tutor.
GCSE ENGLISH
Focus Tuition aims to give students the skills needed to write personal, creative & persuasive essays with fluency and structure, developing their arguments, comments and observations appropriately for an examiner. We also concentrate on improving spelling, punctuation and grammar skills at GCSE level to maximise the gaining of marks awarded for SPAG (60 marks for two English Language papers). For the comprehension questions we teach our students not only to identify the literary and persuasive devices used by writers, but to also produce analytical answers detailing the hoped-for effect on readers of the devices used - thereby maximising marks awarded for these questions.
