PRIMARY LEVEL MATHS & ENGLISH TUITION
We FOCUS on what matters!
Focus Tuition not only helps secondary students and transfer students but also KS1 & KS2 level pupils too, teaching the basic aspects of English and Maths at primary level. At KS1 we aim to engage each child, structuring lessons around improving literacy through the use of phonics and teaching high frequency words; moving on to teaching comprehension skills, grammar and spelling, as they progress to KS2 level; as well as basic maths such as adding, subtraction, multiplication and division, again progressing to topics such as fractions, decimals and percentages.
No matter what stage your child is at, our team are on-hand to provide additional support to help them exceed expectations and grow on an intellectual and a personal level.
PRIMARY MATHS
In Maths our aim is to focus on and practise the mathematical concepts students are taught in school. We use a range of techniques allowing students to consolidate their skills and practise until they are fully confident in the subject. We also develop their problem solving skills by giving them sets of Maths problems to solve and explaining how to solve and tackle problem questions.
PRIMARY ENGLISH
Focus Tuition can help your child with reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, comprehension and much more. We understand that learning English from a written and spoken perspective can be challenging and have helped students accelerate learning in all aspects of primary level English. As always the aim is to give the children a good grounding for the next stages of their education and for life.
Key Stage 3 students (1st – 3rd Form).
At Focus Tuition many of our P7 children stay with us, or return in 1st/2nd year for support in English and Maths, often continuing until they have completed their GCSE’s - and they’re often joined by new KS3 students. Our aim is to prepare them in both subjects for GCSE. Developing their problem solving (Maths) and analytical skills (English) to the full; as well as their proficiency in the core concepts of Maths and grammar, spelling & punctuation in English.
